t.A.T.u. is the most successful Russian Pop group of all time, formed by Lena Katina (Moscow, October 4th, 1984) and Julia Volkova (Moscow, February 20th, 1985). From 2000 up to 2011 the duo released six studio albums in Russian and English language. The debut album 200 km/h in the Wrong Lane was the first to get the IFPI Europe platinum award in two different language versions. In the second half of February 2003 Mediatraffic, which looks comprehensively at sales and radio and TV airings in major countries, placed t.A.T.u. greatest hit All The Things She Said at the top of the most listened to singles chart in the world. t.A.T.u. represented Russia in the 2003 Eurovision Song Contest, performing Ne Ver', Ne Boysia and finishing in third place. In 2005 they released their second english language album Dangerous And Moving. The lead single of the album was All About Us, a Top-ten hit in 14 countries.
t.A.T.u. won 3 World Music Awards in 2003 and were declared Legends by MTV Russia in 2008.
Lena and Julia performed together for the last time in 2009 and officially broke up in 2011, but occasionally reunited for a few shows since 2012. In 2014, after a performance during the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics in Sochi, a quarrel caused their final separation.
